as an osteopath and movement specialist, let me share my skills with you

With over 33 years of clinical experience combining Osteopathy with movement as corrective exercise, I can help you to achieve the results you desire.

I am an experienced Osteopath, Naturopath, Certified Yoga Teacher, Certified Practitioner of Pilates for Rehabilitation, and Certified CHEK Exercise Coach. I graduated from the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (now called the British College of Osteopathic Medicine) in London in 1991. I have been in clinical osteopathic practice for 32 years, and have lectured Osteopathic Medicine at six different Osteopathic institutions.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Movement Studies, Master of Arts Degree in Physical Education, and PGCE in Physical Education. I have lectured Human Movement Studies at undergraduate degree level (at the Cardiff School of Sport) and have also taught Physical Education.

I received my Pilates education with Polestar Pilates UK, under Dr Brent Anderson (founder of Polestar Pilates worldwide), and I subsequently taught as Principal Educator for the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Series (Polestar Pilates UK).

I have taught yoga classes, pilates classes (mat and apparatus based), and have provided individual and small group rehabilitation and movement sessions for patients with many musculoskeletal conditions.

A life-long passion for the joy of movement, exercise and wellbeing has always guided everything I do.

I f you want to move more freely

it’s easier than you might think

Moving your body in the way it was designed to move can bring you endless joy and meaning, at any age. And it will bring you great physical results too, whatever your needs.

It doesn’t matter what age you are currently, or whatever your experience of exercise. All forms of exercise have one fundamental concept in common – movement. And whereas exercise may sometimes be seen merely as an outcome to be achieved, movement is the actual experience within the exercise. And it is the movement itself which can bring meaning to that exercise, if it is performed with awareness.

And more important than the amount of exercise you do, is the quality of how you move in various positions, which will allow you to move better in all areas of your daily life. So your time can be focused on what really counts to get great results without wasting unnecessary time. So, spend your your time exercising wisely.

The Essence of Movement Mastery

Which will re-awaken the joy of movement. Learning about movement principles may provide the theoretical concepts regarding what we know about movement. However, actually performing the movements in a skilful and meaningful way provides opportunity for embodiment – first-hand, direct experience of knowing in, and through, the body – involving how we know the body to be our own. This gives us the capacity to then be able to control our body to express ourselves more freely.

Why you, why me, and why now?

WHY YOU? The essence of Movement Mastery is personal embodiment and growth through self-awareness and self-knowledge of the body through skilful movement.

If you are a practitioner you can learn how to guide your patients through this same process of self-discovery, developing the skills to identify movement patterns in order to modify them appropriately. Having first-hand experience of knowing how to move more skilfully will enhance the way you teach others. 

WHY ME? A life-long passion for movement and exercise has always guided everything I do and when combined with Osteopathy to encourage more natural movement, it offers great opportunity to achieve profound results, and has done so for countless individuals over the last thirty years.
